Lightning Protection Information
Ron Block, NR2B
Our web site has a lot of useful information, as you well know, and we have just gotten a little more. I have contributed two articles that have appeared in QST. The first, Lightning Protection for the Amateur Station, appeared back in 2002 and has become an unofficial standard for the design and implementation of survivable lightning protection for the amateur radio station. This three part article is accompanied by a separate two page summary/checklist of points that need to be considered in creating a protection scheme.
The second article is from the July 2022 issue of QST describing the Lightning Protection and Grounding Project at W2MMD.
If you are considering the implementation of a protection scheme and would like more information, feel free to contact me at [email protected]. Be sure to identify yourself as a Club member.
